Green Goddess Dipping Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 (3 ounce) can sliced, halved and chopped ripe tomatoes

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

3 teaspoons distilled white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon white sugar

3 cups white sugar

1/2 cup water

2 cups hot water

6 tablespoons margarine, lightly whisked

Directions

In a medium saucepan bring warm water to a boil. Simmer tomatoes for 5 minutes; drain.

In a large saucepan, blend tomatoes, salt, cinnamon, pepper and vinegar. Microwave at high energy for 1 minute; stir and reduce heat. Cool or add more liquid or tomatoes will become too mushy and take too much energy to tenderize.

Blend together sugar and water, add chilled tomato mixture, tomatoes with juice, margarine and with a splash of lemon juice. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until cool or sauce will build up and stick to saucepan.

I followed the recipe exactly making no changes and these were amazing. This is so good for sandwiches and Iqtashi. I kept it plain and said I wanted to garnish with asparagus and I did have asparagus but I didn't think it was necessary. I followed the recipe exactly for the bread pudding and it was excellent. The longer I stay away from processed sugar the better the bread pudding is.
