Tuna Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients

1 (2 pound) can tuna, drained

1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs

1/2 teaspoon dried mustard

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 cup liquid tap water

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup vinegar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

6 slices bacon

1/4 cup beer

Directions

In a double boiler over a pan of hot water, combine tuna, dry bread crumbs, mustard, basil, ginger and salt and ground black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thickened, about 4 minutes. Stir in reserved 1 1/2 cups tap water, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, lemon juice and bacon. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.

To Make Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring 1/2 cup water to a boil. Cook tuna in water until almost completely cooked. Add artichoke and cook 4 minutes more.
