Mint Patties Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/4 cups vegetable oil

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

1/2 cup water, divided

3/4 cup butter, softened

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir in the egg, oil and vanilla. Make a well in the center of the flour, and pour in the egg, 1/2 cup of water, and chocolate chips. Beat well. Add the almond and 1/2 cup of water, and mix well. If necessary, gradually stir in walnuts or nuts until smooth. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto an unprepared cookie sheet. If necessary, fold into dough.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. When the cookies are still slightly warm, they will be sticky. Do not let them become completely brown or they will burn. Cool completely before removing them from the baking sheet.
