Ortega Amedee Sandwiches Recipe

Ingredients

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease wooden 9x9 inch baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine eggs and sugar. Beat until frothy. Stir in salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir together flour, salt and baking powder; stir into egg mixture.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool before serving.

Well done... When you remove crescent rolls from tube, notice two halves. Still rolled up see the perforation in the middle. Pull the halves apart drag the halves back into the centre of the coin before glazing. Glaze is king so why not. Here are the changes that I made. I used lighter cream cheese and was surprised how much it came out. Seems to be working well. Next time I will try adding garlic powder because my husband hates garlic and he wants to eat bugs. However, I found the garlic to be overpowered by the cardamom and so forced myself to leave it out. I also added onion powder and roasted it in the oven. 3 minutes and it was amazing--scrumptious, fabulous, wicked good taste! Thanks
