Almond Macaroons Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup white sugar

1 cup milk

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (15 ounce) can marshmallow creme

1/4 cup light rum

1/2 cup water

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the milk, eggs and vanilla until a soft dough is formed. Mix in the marshmallow creme, rum, water and flour. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
