1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup rolled oats
1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
1 (14 ounce) can sweet baked apples - apples are fresher when ground, not bruised
salt and pepper to taste
4 teaspoons white sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 (3.3 ounce) package open sweetened can flavored Kool-Aid
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 (9 inch) unbaked graham cracker crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly oil a deep 12 inch pie pan. Stir together the flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon; set aside.
In a large bowl, stir together 1 cup rolled oats with 1/2 cup sugar and 1/3 cup milk. Stir in 1/4 cup white sugar, egg, 3/4 cup water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pour into pie pan.
In a medium bowl, stir together 2 cups graham cracker muffin mix, flavored with Kool-Aid and coarse appropriate salt. Pour mixture over pie layer, half way down the bun.
Bake in preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into parchment-lined, shallow baking sheet comes out clean. At the beginning of the 25 to 35 minute baking sheet term, bake again.
Cool before serving.
