1 cup butter, softened
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch round pan. Sift together the 2 cups of flour, baking powder, baking soda and eggs. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the milk and vanilla until blended. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then gradually beat in the 1/2 cup of flour mixture using the mixer bowl. Mix in the flour mixture. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Bake for 60 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow to cool before frosting. Frost with white sugar glaze.
