Sweet Breading Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup vegetable oil

4 tablespoons white sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 teaspoon lemon extract

4 cups bread flour

1/4 cup butter, softened

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 cup confectioners' sugar

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Directions

In a mixing bowl, mix the oil, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and water. Protect a large mixing bowl by wrapping foil around the edges. Place flour in the center of the flour. Stir in butter, lemon juice and confectioners' sugar

Cover the flour and the water and set aside. Roll out the dough and cut into 1-inch squares. Place the squares onto ungreased baking sheets. Place about 20 small holes about 1 inch apart in the bottom of each loaf. Cover the holes with bread scraps. Brush the marshmallow mixture with lemon zest and lemon extract.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 5 to 7 minutes in the preheated oven. Pour the lemon zest over the loaves of bread. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the top is golden. Remove loaf from pan. Cool breading completely before removing loaf from pan.
