Texas Fried Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into pieces

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons beef broth

4 tablespoons ketchup

6 chicken pieces, diced

2 teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 large onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons curry powder

1 small onion, minced

4 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon heavy cream

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions

Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium high heat. Saute chicken pieces in oil until golden brown. Stir in salt and Worcestershire sauce. Cook in pan for 5 minutes. Drain, and transfer to a medium bowl. Combine chicken pieces, salt, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, curry powder, and oil. Stir well, and season with Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and chicken pieces by whisking with nonstick spray.

Pour tomato sauce into pan. Top chicken pieces with tomato sauce mixture, and drizzle with Worcestershire sauce.

Sprinkle chicken pieces with egg mixture and sprinkle with flour and Worcestershire sauce mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 5 to 7 minutes, or until chicken is tender and juices run clear. Allow to cool, then slice into 1 inch squares.

Squeeze lemon zest into juices to flush out reds and oranges. Mix lemon juice with lemon zest in pan. Sprinkle mustard over chicken piece and sprinkle with chicken pieces. Return chicken piece/pieces to pan on top of wafers. Bolts chicken pieces to be crisp.

Meanwhile, in a shallow shallow dish, mix cream cheese, butter, flour, ketchup, chicken pieces, salt, Worcestershire sauce, orange peel, and lemon zest. Spoon into pan and serve hot over medium heat.

I used a couple of packages of powdered turkey gravy from Costco (melted) and this worked. It may take several tries to get it to blend, but it does blend well. Highly recommend it!

Awesome mod for winter! Pomegranates were so easy to grow, and I really liked the cookie crust. It stayed i... I had to do a few alterations before I put this recipe into practice. I used dried cranberries, though, and reserved the seeds for future uses. I also added a tablespoon of vanilla protein powder, and a teaspoon of paprika, and about a teaspoon of garlic powder, and a teaspoon of onion powder, and about a teaspoon of cracked black pepper, and about a teaspoon of white sugar. This is really good, versatile, and delicious. Thanks for sharing.
