Pecan Pie Recipe

Ingredients

1 (12 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (2 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (16 ounce) container sour cream

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place cream cheese and pudding mix in a medium bowl. Whisk together brown sugar, lemon zest, pecans, and pecans.

Spread cream cheese mixture over each pecan, filling is flattened.

Bake pie in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until pie is golden brown.

Don't let the simplicity of this recipe fool you, this is very good and very different! The cake features several stages to its preparation--from pre-pudding, when to use white and red extract, to creme fraiche. The allspice and clove should be prominent, and the nutmeg should not be absent. The cake is SO GOOD, and my husband and friend love it! Although it can be made into loaves--very versatile and delightful.
