Berries with Banana Cream Recipe

Ingredients

2 apples - peeled, cored and sliced

1 1/4 cups chopped celery

1/4 cup chopped onion

4 cups chopped black pecans

1 cup chopped yellow squash

1 cup white sugar

1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 cup boiling water

1 (8 ounce) package butter or margarine, softened

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

In a large bowl, mix apples, celery, onion, pecans, sugar, pudding mix, cooking soda and water. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving.

When serving, spread about 1 tablespoon of the apples mixture over each serving. Chill in refrigerator at least 4 hours before serving. Cut into 1/4 inch squares.

Followed this recipe exactly, [so I feel entitled to actually review the recipe unlike those people that change the recipe and review their version of the recipe] This is a really good basic recipe. I used carrots, celery, and onion. I also used half of a small yellow jalapeno. I sliced my carrots and diced them right into chunks. I quartered my onion and chopped it down the center. I halved my potatoes and grabbed every last one. I mash-called it a quiche. It turned out great. Thanks for the recipe.

Pretty good, but I think I'd prefer warm water. I'll try with Oreos next time.
