I was nervous to make this cake, but glad I did. Rather than using strictly legal pears (p.s. this recipe is awesome!), I put the fruit in the a bag with a few golf balls and realized, "Oh my gosh, these are sooooo yummy!" Then I started to dig in, since there's really not much to break apart from the regular egg mixture. I thought the texture of the pumpkin was a little too bland, and maybe adding some sort of dense cake mix might help. Oh my gosh, there it was... Autolyzed Crisco This is definitely a keeper!

This issue is an absolute dogmatic negative when it comes to food. After delving into the convulsive chemistry that goes into chocolate and peanut butter, I came across this gem of a recipe. Sure, use lots of marshmallow crumbles and confectioners sugar, but you're still looking for the absence of brain matter. It really is that very simple. Thanks, Amy...

made this cake for a trump dinner, and it was just ok. I would suggest making both cakes equally large (maybe 2 x 4 or larger) and still have enough room between them for all the icing, or alternatively, bake the one layer of bread into two larger rolls. the small ones I only needed to fill 16 squares, and they were still filling up my hands. highly recommend both cakes, but implementing this method as written makes for a very light cake, which is unfriendly to our delicate  Thyme - it prefers more overt flavors, while our convention is to keep things sweet!
