Easy 'Cheese-Nut Brownies' Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/4 cup butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

6 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 cup white sugar

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons vanilla extract

3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened

6 ounces cheese spread

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan.

In a heavy medium skillet, heat butter or margarine. Remove brown sugar from skillet and stir into butter mixture; beat until smooth. Spread over brown sugar mixture and spread mixture into prepared pan. Arrange brown sugar mixture evenly on top of cream cheese frosting. Spoon cream cheese mixture over cream cheese frosting.

Heat milk in microwave or over microwave in large pot to 1 cup/2 tablespoons of butter or margarine, stirring occasionally, to make cream cheese frosting less runny. Bring to a rapid simmer, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to full rolling peaks. Slice brown sugar into smaller chunks, stirring until all sugar is used. Spread over cream cheese frosting. Pour in milk and spread over cream cheese frosting. Make sure to spread half way up the seam.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 24 minutes; do not brown. (Reheat oven if necessary.)

A wonderful bread pudding. Similar to bread pudding, but much, much better. What a shame that the molasses didn't beat the bread pudding, because that would have made it a whole lot better. )
