1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 lemon, juiced
3 tablespoons milk
1 quart vegetable oil
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
In a medium bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, lemon juice, milk and oil. Mix well. Stir in the cream cheese until well blended. Cover dough and refrigerate overnight; refrigerate again before rolling out.
Roll out the dough and roll into a 6 inch square; cut into 1 inch squares. Place in the baking dish; brush cream cheese over the top.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, turning once, until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet before removing to a wire rack.
