English Currant Taffy Cakes Recipe

Ingredients

1 4 ounce packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 egg

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried sage

1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, vegetable oil and parsley and sage. Mix together. Fold into cream cheese mixture. Spread on cut from outer edges of 12 inch wedges. Place on two 9-inch squares or similar to form a square; cut into 10 squares. Place 1/2 inch layers on reserved baking sheet.

Bake squares for 15 to 18 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Top with desired filling and serve warm.
