1 cup white sugar
1 1/4 cups prepared yellow cake mix
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

In a large bowl, mix sugar, cake mix and baking powder. Mix gently. Allow the mixture to stand for several hours.
Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in egg and oil until thoroughly blended. Remove from heat and stir in sugar mixture. Stirring constantly, gradually stir in the egg mixture. If necessary, stir in the oil mixture until completely incorporated.
