1 orange, pipped and sliced
1 inch dried orange peel
2 large carrots, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
1 medium head cabbage, shredded
paprika to taste
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Cut the orange slices in half, remove seeds and peel; place orange slices in glass dish. Pour orange juice onto the orange slices; cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously until oil has reached a boil. Stir frequently. Add cabbage, carrots, onion, orange slices and orange juice; cook 1 minute.
Add soy sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper; bring to a boil. Stirring constantly, bring to a slow boil. Quickly cook, stirring constantly, until cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in the orange slices, orange juice and vegetable oil.
