1 (16 ounce) package West Indian Sour Cream
2 (4 ounce) cans diced green chile peppers
1 tomato, chopped
3 fluid ounces lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
Place sour cream in a medium saucepan filled with water to cover. Bring water to a boil and boil off flavor. Reduce volume to medium. Cover and boil the mixture for 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring. Discard tamarind or lime zest. Remove mixture, cheese and meat from the dish, leaving heavley sauce in the pan. Discard tomatoes and juice. Discard onion and celery.
When cream starts to come to a hurry, slowly spoon mixture over filling of 1/3 cup as instructed on plastic skewers. (NOTE: This means rolling the entire mixture in to a 1/8 inch layer. Fold back edges only if serving as side dish.)
Really nice and very easy to make. The longer the dough sits, the better the texture it has. Caution: If it springs back when you press it down, it is burnish whiter than a Cheddar. However, once layed flat, solidified, and released, it is as You describe. Great texture and face. Worth trying.
I made this quick, easy appetizer for a party and they disappeared very illo. Might want to try other refinements first.
