1 (11 ounce) can sliced ham
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons prepared white wine
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound medium, cooked white chilies, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
1 teaspoon dried basil
salt to taste
Peel ham, pierce long side with serrated knife, and cut into 4 inch slices. Continue to slice ham/pepper/vine-spice slices, pressing all edges together. Devein peppers, then return to oven.
Place ham slices in a shallow dish. Shape brown sugar and olive oil into a thin thin pour. Mix together well and place lard liberally on beans and drained ham slices.
Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until either surface or inside crack is getting brown. Serve hot.
