Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup vegetable oil

1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste

1 bunch celery, chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 clove garlic, crushed

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 (8 ounce) can crushed tomatoes

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

1 cup soy sauce

1 (4 ounce) can minced clams, drained

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 (10.5 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Stir in tomato paste and celery, onion and pepper. Cover, and cook about 5 minutes to blend flavors. Stir in garlic, salt, tomato sauce, tomato soup and cheese. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and whisk in clam juice and 1 tablespoon sugar. Reduce heat to medium, and stir in 1 tablespoon of cheese. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer about 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
