1 medium variety setters (e.g. Ms. Dairy Queen Gourmet Setters)
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sliced almonds
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
In a medium bowl, cream together butter, 1 cup sugar and eggs until light. Beat in the sugar. Mix in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla until well blended. Preserve the mixture until ready to use.
Sprinkle the almonds evenly over the eggs, then quickly brush the rolled butter mixture onto the sliced almonds.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until glazed. Allow to cool, then serve cold.
