1 cup margarine, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder salt
1 cup white sugar
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons lemon zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (30 ounce) can sliced lemonade cherries, drained
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
To Make the Cookies: Mix margarine, eggs, flour, baking powder, baking soda, baking powder salt and sugar in medium bowl; blend well.
Place white sugar in small bowl; add melted butter, stirring just until evenly coated. Mix milk, lemon zest and vanilla extract; stir into margarine mixture. Drop batter by heaping teaspoons onto prepared cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
