Cinnamon Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup cinnamon syrup

3 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon cinnamon

2 cups confectioners' sugar for dusting

Directions

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar until fully melted. Mix in cinnamon, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and confectioners' sugar together in small bowl. Sprinkle mixture over butter or margarine.

Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Stir in cinnamon syrup and eggs, and add enough to coat completely. Remove from heat and allow to cool to lukewarm. Mix cinnamon syrup, confectioners' sugar, cinnamon powder, and confectioners' sugar into cooled batter.

Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Cover with linen or plastic wrap.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool loaf in pan at room temperature. Dust opening of loaf with powdered sugar. Twist and refrigerate for at least four hours.
