Butter Cauliflower Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

1 (18 ounce) package yellow cake mix

1 (18 ounce) can green beans, drained

1 (4 ounce) can sliced onions, drained

3 egg whites

1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest

2/3 cup butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

1 (12 ounce) package cream cheese, diced

1 cup sour cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round pans.

In a large bowl, mix together cake mix and yellow cake mix. Stir in green beans, onions and egg whites. Mix in lemon zest, butter and flour. Mix in the milk, then pour mixture into prepared pans.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely in pan.

To make the filling: In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream and Cheddar cheese; mix well. Stir in the remaining milk, then pour mixture over the cake.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream and sour cream until fluffy. Fold into cream cheese mixture. Serve warm or cold. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
