1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
1 1/4 cups apple juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup white sugar for decoration
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch square pan.
Stir apple juice into brown sugar; mix well. Combine butter, eggs, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg in small bowl; set aside.
Beat yellow cake mix into milk and vegetable oil; stir into apple mixture. Fold in white sugar. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven 15 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
