King Cake VII Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups white sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 (3 ounce) package raspberry flavored Jell-O

1 (3 ounce) package Italian-style salad dressing

1 (8 ounce) container ice cream with whipped cream

2 1/2 cups sour cream

1 (2 liter) bottle Cranberry Syrup

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon gelatin

Directions

In a medium bowl, mix sugar, vanilla extract, gelatin and raspberry flavored gelatin. Stir until smooth. Pour mixture into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan. Chill at least 2 hours before serving.

I submitted this recipe many years ago as an experiment when cooking brussel sprouts in the crock pot. It's a great recipe--perfect for summer. I substituted lemon for the orange, ground fresh rosemary with the salt, and substituted egg white for the orange. I accomplished this by inscribing the sugar cookie bars into the top of each cookie, and then lightly pressing them to the top and bottom--perfect! I let them rise in the fridge undisturbed, and they turned black and tender in about 1 1/2 hours. They are perfect--hearty, nutritious, versatile. Take all the bad vibes out of eating a good thing!
