1 (20 ounce) can vanilla wafers
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 (2 ounce) packages pure banana flavored Jell-O mix
1 cup boiling hot water
1 1 /3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 tablespoons pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, mix vanilla wafers, chocolate chips and boiling hot water. Stir until smooth. Spread evenly into the bottom of each pan. Layer chocolate banana jelly and banana cereal jelly on top. Spread on bottom crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or until an electric palette tray is inserted into the center of the cake. Allow to cool completely in pan before cutting into squares. (Note: If in doubt, cool cake in pan in refrigerator until completely cool.) Serve warm.
