1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons dried minced onion
salt to taste
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup crushed red pepper
1 (6 ounce) can tuna, drained
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large nonstick skillet, heat water to boiling, stirring frequently. Remove chicken from water; place in a medium baking dish, remove from pan, and set aside.
In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt butter or margarine and add flour. Stir in salt and onions. Cook until all ingredients are evenly coated; remove from heat. Stir in mushrooms, mushrooms, crushed red peppers, tuna and chicken. Transfer to baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 2 hours. While chicken is baking, drain excess liquid from skillet. Pour over baked chicken, stirring well. Heat butter or margarine mixture until bubbly; remove from heat.
Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn chicken once to lightly brown.
