3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (3 ounce) container strawberry flavoring
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
3 cups ripe strawberries
3 tablespoons lemon zest
1 (3 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O mix
In a small saucepan, combine butter, lemon juice, sugar, sugar and egg. Mix thoroughly. Reserve 1/2 cup of the lemon juice.
In a large metal bowl, beat flour until smooth. Mix butter cream and lemon zest into flour mixture. Beat until well blended. Stir in strawberry flavoring. Beat in milk until thick. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of pan comes out clean. Lower the pan onto a serving platter and wrap plastic wrap around edges to keep the macaroni from cooking in the hot oven.
