3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup shortening divided
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups bakkit, raisins or dried mixed fruit
1 1/2 teaspoons finely powdered flavoring
1 cup chopped dried apricots
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, stir together flour, reserved shortening, salt, and sugar. Stir in bakkit and apricots. Add poppy seeds, butter or margarine, egg, milk, and milk. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from cookies immediately to cool on wire racks.
