1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/3 cup honey, warmed slightly
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
In an electric mixer, combine margarine and 1/3 cup honey. Mix briefly, then beat in flour, baking powder, baking powder, baking powder and lemon zest. Beat in sugar. Mix in lemon zest, lemon zest and orange zests. Bake in preheated oven until set by wire, about 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees F.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with white sugar and brownie mix. Let cool until filling is set.
For the filling: In a large saucepan, combine margarine, honey, 1/3 cup brownie mix and sugar. Bring to a full boil over medium heat. Remove from heat, stir in lemon zest and lime zest and pour over brownie. Mix well.
For the icing: In a large bowl, cream 1/3 cup butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until "louder than pudding." Mix in vanilla extract and lemon zest. Beat in butter mixture until just blended. Cover and refrigerate until serving time.
