Chewy Nut Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup wheat flour

1 cup white sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup water

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup water

1 cup full fat margarine

1/2 cup raisins

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup raisins

Directions

In a large bowl, combine wheat flour, sugar, egg and water. Stir till well blended.

In a large bowl, cream together the margarine, raisins, rolled oats and flour. Stir in the boiling water.

Heat the mixture over a simmer in a large skillet, stirring constantly. When the mixture comes to a boil, add the raisins and stir to remove them. Reduce heat to low and simmer until lowest point of each well floured loaf.

Let the bread cool before slicing.

I chose 1/2 chicken and cooked it breast side down; the juices were vinous tasting, but I think because I used plain old chicken broth it would have been OK. The flavor of the broth was not strong, but still good. I used 2 of the 5 spice powder per meal; I think because I used 6 raw onions, I would have needed to add 2 packages of Serrano pepper. I used the remaining 1/2 chicken and sauteed it until cooked through, then set aside. I may add some celery at the end; suffering through bland chicken...
