1 1/2 cups milk
1/8 cup apple juice
1/8 cup cooking lemon juice
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
3 teaspoons lemon extract
In a medium saucepan, bring the milk and apples juice to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer over medium heat until boiling. Remove the pan from heat and stir in lemon juice, sugar, lemon extract, butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, butter, lemon juice and lemon extract. Cover, and simmer one minute. Stir in the vanilla extract. Cover, return pan to a boil, and boil until the butter has melted. Pour into the prepared dish.
Stir the lemon and lemon zest into the milk mixture. Spread over the mixture before serving.
