Hot Dog Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 pint water

1 (4 ounce) can grilled tomato

2 tablespoons mustard powder

1 teaspoon dry mustard mix

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon dried horseradish

1/4 teaspoon dried parsley

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

6 tablespoons hot sauce

Directions

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add tomato, mustard powder, dry mustard mix and salt, and stir gently. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Melt garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute garlic in dim place for about 3 minutes; stir in mustard powder. Pour in soy sauce, brown sugar, hot sauce and brown sugar mixture. Stir in enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Boil, stirring, for 4 to 6 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in tomato mixture. Bring to a full boil.

Pour sauce and tomatoes over hot dog buns. Serve hot dogs with mustard sauce immediately after warming.

These cookies were a hit at work and they've been favorites ever since. Not too sweet, not too dry, just right. A 10 for us. I used a little longer than the call for because I wanted to make sure the dough did not get too soft. These made tiny bite-sized appetizers. But they were all good. The whole family went crazy for these and they were great looking.
