French Jerky Pastry Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1/4 cup dry bread crumbs

1/2 cup raisins

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons chopped dried cherries

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

3 1/2 cups cooking eggs

Directions

Combine butter, flour and salt in a medium bowl. Stir until smooth. In a separate bowl, combine egg, flour, 1/2 cupbread crumbs and 1/2 cup raisins. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture. Stir until ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Fill several 2 quart baking dishes with salted water as needed. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until center is set. Cool on wire racks for 2 hours or overnight.
