Garlic Dill Pickle Squares Recipe

Ingredients

6 large yellow onions, chopped

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt

3 large green onions, chopped

1 teaspoon crushed saltine cracker crackers

2 teaspoons soy sauce

1 large yellow pickle, peeled and diced

1 onion, sliced

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

4 cups crushed cornflakes cereal

1 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed

Directions

Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat. Saute onions and garlic until fragrant; repeat with remaining ingredients. Turn heat to medium. Saute until tender; let cool slightly.

Add tomato paste and salt and pepper to skillet; add green, yellow and red onions; cook over medium heat until heated through. Stir in saltine cracker crackers and soy sauce. Stir in carrots, tomatoes, white sugar, Worcestershire sauce and cornflakes cereal until thoroughly blended.

Add the remaining ingredients, mixing in spinach, while stirring gently to make the mixture a little thick.

Cover and simmer in the refrigerator on medium/low heat for about 1 hr.

This recipe is excellent! I substituted egg for the paste and blew liberally on my first attempt. It was divine! The walnuts added beautiful color and were so ripe. Everything about this is so simple but it makes soooo much more sense when you experiment. Thanks so much for sharing!
