Sugar Cookies II Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter

4 ounces unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup white sugar

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons butter

6 tablespoons margarine, softened

1/4 cup white sugar for decoration

Directions

Beat butter, cocoa, and white sugar in large bowl until blended. Beat in oil and eggs by hand. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 cup sugar. Blend into butter mixture. Stir in 2 cups flour mixture. Cover, and refrigerate dough for an hour or more.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Roll dough into 1 inch balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden. Remove cookie from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

First time making it and I was very pleased! Very simple to make, but I did change a few things at the end. I didn't have any dried dill weed on hand so I used fresh dill sprigs. I also didn't have any oregano, so I used coriander. I added a small pinch of ground ginger, and a few grinds from my pepper mill. I used two fresh cloves of diced garlic, and about a pound of fresh cranberries. I deemed this to be "raw" food so I did not use an actual amount of ingredients ( I found that by eyeballing my ingredients I could determine how much I wanted without counting the toppings). I estimated that my hero supply of powdered whitener would be running low so I decided to make this without it. My hu
