Stuffed Crabmeat II Recipe

Ingredients

4 (1 inch thick) fillets crabmeat

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (use the dry process if possible)

1 tablespoon lemon juice, divided

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Place crabmeat in a shallow, shallow dish or bowl. Place lemon juice, lemon juice, vegetable oil, and yeast over the crab. Cover lightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and allow to stand overnight in refrigerator.

Stir the crabmeat, lemon juice, lemon juice, garlic powder, and onions into the yeast mixture. Mix well and allow to stand overnight.

Pour crab mixture into a greased 7x11-inch pan. Sprinkle about 1 1/2 tablespoons of the lemon juice on top and a few tablespoons over all over the sides.

Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until browned. Remove uncovered crab from oven, and sprinkle with remaining lemon juice and garlic powder to taste. Return crab to oven, and brush with remaining lemon juice and garlic powder. Tin foil while baking, or ice. (Note: don't let foil get on the crab. Refrigerate a few hours before serving.)

I halved the recipe and DIDN'T have crab meat so didn't have much of a choice but to use hamburger buns instead crabmeat. The trick to making these is to cook them long and do them very slowly. Once done, you can pick them up with a spoon and keep them in the pan longer than is usual. I did this just before serving instead of adding more breadcrumbs. You can dress these babies up however you like. I did

I was really really looking forward to this dish, however it was not very tasty. Maybe it is the shrimp, I don't know, but I thought the recipe was pretty good, and adjusted it to accomodate what I had. I used 1T of butter for 1kg of crab, and it turned out fine. However the potatoes do not cook fast enough, I think that potato starch would have helped, and also maybe the addition of some garlic would have helped as I didn't have any. Overall it was a pretty quick and easy healthy dinner, however I did think that the topping was a little much. I would adjust it to be more reasonable in the future, for instance, by adding more cornstarch or baking soda.
