1 (18 ounce) package buttery round crackers
1 cup white sugar
1 cup beer
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
6 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, beer, milk and vanilla extract. Remove from heat and stir in eggs and oil. Beat until blended, then add flour to slowly stir into the creamed mixture. Mix together with a wooden spoon.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
