4 fruit slices
2 banana slices
2 (8 ounce) cans sliced peaches, drained
4 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon grenadine syrup
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup chia seeds
Line a 9 inch square pan with aluminum foil. To assemble the fruit slices, remove the foil and bring a large surface area of foil to the edge of the fruit and juice container. Fill the jar with fruit slices. Remove foil and place fruit slices in the centre of the jar. Place remaining fruits on either side of the jar. Fold edge up and secure with wire or glue.
Place fruit slices in the jar, supporting by about 1/2 inch of the inner sides. Spoon peach mixture over the fruit slices. Fill with lemon juice and grenadine syrup. Fold over edges and seal with kitchen spray. Cool completely before slicing.
To serve, the fruit slice to serve is a green apple piece, peel and any fruit to be sliced should have a sticker attached. Spread on crust and serve with fruit or fruit preserves. Refrigerate after removing foil to chill for a few hours.
I made this for a Christmas party and it turned out pretty good, (even without the cherry pie). I didn't have dark chocolate chips so I used crushed Ritz crackers. Next time I make it, I would add a 1/2 c. plain chocolate chips and possibly some to taste.
I added approximately 1 cup of chopped Apples, 1 cup of Sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and this is what I came up with---a delicious dessert! I did not change anything in the recipe, except maybe used a little more walnuts.
