Tajin Szechuan Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon dried red chile pepper

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon white sugar

1 teaspoon vegetable oil

3 boneless, skinless chicken thighs - cut into 1 inch cubes

2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs - cut into 1 inch cubes

4 boneless, skinless chicken legs

1 cup minced garlic

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 cup chili sauce

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

1 teaspoon dried tarragon (optional)

Directions

In a heavy saucepan, combine water, paprika, garlic powder, red chile pepper, oregano, sugar, oil, chicken thighs, chicken body, garlic powder, onion, chili sauce, tarragon and garlic powder. Heat, stirring, until chicken is no longer pink.

This recipe was easy but I'm not raving about the end results. It was a little bland. I would suggest adding some red pepper flakes or some other seasoning to give it a little more flavor.

I was worried at first that my husband and I may be sensitive to the strong acidity of Pisco. He is not likely to be affected. I put the balsamic and water in the bottling bucket and sprayed the rim. Very good. I will make this time and time again.
