Tamas el Ambrosino IV Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar

1 cup raisins

2 tablespoons orange juice

3 tablespoons orange zest

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup distilled white vinegar

1/4 cup chopped almonds

1 cup sliced almonds, crushed for garnish

2 cups milk

3 cups white sugar

salt to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a small bowl, mix together sugar, raisins, orange juice, orange zest, garlic, vanilla and salt. Mix in 1/3 cup vinegar. Mix thoroughly.

Pour oat mixture into a large buttered 8 inch round baking dish.

Bake, covered, at least 30 minutes, or overnight depending on the size of the baking dish.

Spoon mixture onto the wedges of sweetened chocolate covered with almonds. Fill each wedge with the raisins, one layer deep. Return pan to oven and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour.

Cool completely. Combine 1 cup milk and sugar. Stir in 1/3 cup vinegar. Garnish with chopped almonds and crushed almonds. Top with powdered sugar (optional). Top with chocolate sauce, if desired.

I followed the recipe exactly making no changes and these were amazing! My husband complained when they were all gone. My only warning would be to be careful when grilling over high heat, some of ours were burned, however my husband still inhaled his.
