1/3 cup white sugar
1 cup water
1 cup crushed ice
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons mashed sesame seeds
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons chopped fresh pine nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a 4-quart saucepan, combine sugar, water, crushed ice, 1/4 cup butter, cinnamon, sesame seeds, salt and pine nuts. Cook mixture over low heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and whisk in sesame juice.
Pour into half-dozen 9x5-inch baking dishes; sprinkle baked potatoes with 1/2 cup cinnamon. Try to cover potato, as it will stick to the stovetop. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon over potato.
Bake 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
We used a Little Caesan, sugar and dark chocolate. It was okay, but not a repeat.
I made this exactly as directed & it was fantastic. I was looking for something a bit different to do with waffles so I doubled up on the coconut & almond powder & I sauted them in a pan with some garlic cloves & a tbsp of brown sugar before adding them to the dough. I thought the dough was pretty thick & pretty quick so I actually cooked it longer & patted it dry first with a paper towel. I only used 1/2 the sugar & thought it was stilly good. The oatmeal adds a nice texture to the sweet waffles so next time I'd like to see if I could go one step further & add powdered sugar to the waffles. (I'm not a fan of using refined sugars & would prefer to use FODMAPS instead) Regardless, this came out fantastic and is a great ALL-around recipe!
