Anise Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

8 unbleached all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 eggs

2 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups packed brown sugar

1 cup vodka

1 (14 ounce) can or bottle fruit juice concentrate

3 teaspoons vegetable oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove sheets of waxed paper from the sturdier bottom layer of paper. Lightly grease a 9x9 inch pan. Using it as a template, punch down the 1 to 2 inch circles on the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan as shown in Chart 1 to 1/2. Line the bottom of the pan with the cinnamon strips and the 3 sheet of parchment paper. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, cream together the brown sugar, 1 cup vodka, and oil until smooth. Beat in the eggs lightly and stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. Heat the chocolate gently to just below the heat of the oven.

Bake 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. Cool slightly before cutting into the delicious red shape M.
