3 1/2 cups shortening
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
2 cups corn syrup
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 (8 ounce) package Red Velvet Twinkies
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (3 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (8 ounce) pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the corn syrup, milk, vanilla, eggs, pineapple and nuts. Mix well.
Press mixture into prepared pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely, and cover with a plastic wrap to keep warm. Allow to cool.
