1 1/2 cups water
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup lemon zest
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter
In a blender or food processor, combine water, sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest. Pour mixture into a small mixing bowl. Stir milk into the mixture, as well as butter.
Place a large glass of milk in the top of a double boiler or heat oven, and stir to boiling.
Heat the milk mixture to boiling, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat. Remove the frosting from the pan, and stir into the chocolate mixture until evenly blended. Chill until set.
