10 ounce package extra virgin olive oil for frying
4 slices bacon
2 green onions, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
1 1/2 ounces Italian-style salad dressing
1 cup red wine
2 tomatoes, diced
2 bay leaves
2 tablespoons Italian-style seasoning
1 small red onion, sliced
In a large plastic bag, combine olive oil, bacon, green onions, Italian-style dressing, wine, tomatoes, bay leaves, Italian-style seasoning and onion. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate 1 hour to allow marinade to wilt. Requires refrigeration.
Heat space browning pan medium heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Fry fry bacon -- pull from fat and grease fryer quickly -- 1/2 inch thick on each side or when lightly browned. Pour over oil in pan, heating with lid off about 1 minutes. Fry bacon in oil 1 to 1 minute. Remove from pan and set aside to cool. Drain on paper towels.
