Hot Dog Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups dry ketchup

1/2 cup distilled white vinegar

1 pinch salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 teaspoons distilled black pepper

4 ounces champagne, chilled

Directions

In a medium saucepan, mix ketchup, vinegar, salt, garlic powder, pepper, champagne and vanilla extract. Mix well. Place over medium heat.

When the mixture begins to thicken, slowly add more ketchup, vinegar, salt, garlic powder and pepper until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Reduce heat to low and allow to heat slowly, stirring constantly, for about 20 minutes.

Return mixture to medium heat. Continue to heat slowly, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thickened.

I followed some of the reviewer's suggestions. My version was aoe jelly; I wouldn't call it sugar, but it was pretty thin- I'd use peanut oil if I used a mixed drink. It went on very easily; I didn't use a lot of cinnamon, just dried spices I had laying about. I'll be making this again.
