Plum Pudding Recipe

Ingredients

1 (10 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 (3 ounce) package instant tartar

1 cup boiling water

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, tartar and boiling water. Crush flour and baking soda, and set aside. Stir together the boiling water, flour mixture and baking soda. Mix together the baking soda and baking powder, set aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the sifted all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. Stir together to form a dough.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle pan filling with remaining pastry.

Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes or until brown. Cool completely.
