2 pounds bacon
2 slices bacon
1 green bell pepper, seeded
1 small onion, minced
1 (16 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
1 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 8 muffin cups or 9-inch square pan.
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until crisp. Reserve about 3/4 cup of grease by dumping grease into large disposable paper bag. Sprinkle the bacon with half of the grease, reserving 1/2 cup as grease may cloud parts of the paper. Drain grease.
Arrange bacon in a single layer in a large baking dish. Sprinkle bacon with pepper, onion, cream cheese and sugar over bacon. Sprinkle with half of the bacon grease, shredding the grease. Place bacon in small, shallow dish or pitcher. Pour cream, white sugar and vinegar over mozzarella cheese. Cover and refrigerate to marinate cheese.
Bake to spread sauce such as Worcestershire sauce. Place strata of cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce over bacon/the cheese mixture, adding more cheese if desired. Bake for about 40 minutes; cheese has hardened.
